 Biodiesel is widely used in tractors, trucks and ships. It refers to oil crops such as soybean, rapeseed, cotton, palm, wild oil plant and engineering micro algae and other aquatic plant oils and animal fats, food waste oil as raw oil by ester exchange and thermal chemical process can replace petroleum diesel made of renewable diesel fuel.

There are many kinds of process equipment for producing biodiesel, The set of processing technology is the latest development for our company. This process can meet the high quality standard of biodiesel, with high reaction speed and high conversion rate. It is free from sulfuric acid as a catalyst and low sulfur content, and has the advantages of small corrosive and no wastewater discharge.

1. Process introduction

1) Esterification reaction unit

 The standard raw oil, methanol and catalyst are added to the esterification reactor or tower in a certain proportion and flow rate. The heating device is opened to the required technical parameters to react about 1-3h until the acid value is reduced to 3mgKOH/g, and the water produced during the reaction process is discharged out of the system. The material can be discharged continuously after the sampling inspection is qualified.

2) Transesterification reaction

The material after the esterification reaction and the methanol alkali solution are measured separately and the corresponding processing parameters are adjusted to go into the ester exchange reactor synchronously. The heating device is adjusted to the required process parameters. The sample is sampled at any time in the reaction process, and the material can be discharged after being qualified.

3) Purification of crude methyl ester

The biodiesel distillation unit is a multi type self diverting vacuum distillation device, and the distillation system adopts the continuous distillation process of heat conducting oil, and the crude methyl ester is distilled in the vacuum state.

 4) Methanol recovery unit

Excessive methanol in the system is reused after distillation.

5) Crude glycerol refining unit

Since the byproduct glycerol contains some methanol and a very small amount of soap in the glycerol after transesterification, the dealcohols must be done before recycling in order to avoid the loss of methanol with the glycerol into the esterification reactor during recycling. 4. Will Biodiesel harm my engine in any way?

No, biodiesel is actually better for your engine. It is a solvent and a lubricant, as well as a fuel, so it will clean out a system that has been running petroleum diesel, and it will provide lubrication for your injection pump and other parts. The ultra low sulfur diesel that is available now has less lubrication (that’s what the sulfur was for) so it is hard on engines that weren’t designed for it. Even running just a small percentage of biodiesel mixed with regular diesel will allow your engine to run with better "lubricity".
