More and more solar is integrated into residential and commercial power supply solutions. However, how to use it sufficiently is a problem. In many cases the solar power harvest in daytime couldn't be offered to load, but only sold to grid. Along the trend feed-in-tariffs are decreasing and will be cancelled for many regions, storing the excess solar power into the battery for your own usage later is becoming more and more popular. This intermediate energy storage system (ESS) could increase self-consumption rate of harvested solar and consequently save the power fee.

Furthermore, ESS & self-consumption can help to overcome the peak load problem. If the power consumption exceeds the quantity agreed upon with the electric utility company, this can lead to increased provision charges or trigger off the input breaker thus causing a power down issue. But a highly efficient battery-storage system can help you avoid expensive load peaks by allowing you to store solar power temporarily and use it whenever you need it.
